As I am learning portrait after portrait, what remains on film is far from what I know the person to be. Simone is as funny, extroverted and noisy as one can be. Would you tell him from this shot? I wouldn't.

A person's character shows through moment after moment, piece by piece, without a definite edge between the facet you are seeing now and the previous one. This is how a portrait can pinpoint him/her in a way you didn't foresee before the shutter release or realized you had captured just after.
